ASM runs quests (small tasks on X that earn points and sometimes prizes) and occasional giveaways. These rules apply to all of them, together with the details shown on each quest card. They're part of the Terms of Use and follow the Community Guidelines. Words such as "ASM", "wallet", "crate" and "the Services" mean what the "Words we use" table on the About ASM page says.
1. Who runs quests
Quests are run by ASM (Anti Social Media), an independent creative project from South Africa (see About ASM). Quests are not sponsored, endorsed or run by X Corp., Instagram, Discord or any other platform. Those platforms aren't responsible for them.
2. Entry is free
- You don't have to buy anything to enter a quest or giveaway, and entering never costs anything paid to ASM.
- You need a free XRP Ledger wallet (Xaman or Joey) to sign in and receive prizes, and an X account. The XRP Ledger requires every wallet to hold a small amount of XRP as a reserve. That reserve and network fees go to the XRP Ledger, not to ASM.
- Your normal internet or mobile data costs apply.
3. Who can enter
You can enter if:
- you're 18 or older
- you sign in to the Services with your own wallet
- you link your own X account to your ASM profile, by posting a one-time code from that account (the link lasts 180 days)
- you meet any extra condition shown on the quest card, for example "more than 20 followers"
You can't win a prize if you're the ASM founder, someone who helps run ASM or the quest (including admins and anyone supplying goods or services for it), or a spouse, partner, parent, child or sibling of any of those people.
4. How a quest works
- Open the quest on the Quests page. The card shows the task, the dates, the points, any prize, how many prizes there are and any extra conditions.
- Do the task from your linked X account. For example: quote a named @0xASMedia post, or make a post that tags @0xASMedia (and uses a hashtag, if the card names one).
- Paste the link to your post on the Quests page.
- We check the post through X's public embed service: that it's from your linked account, that it was posted while the quest was open, and that it does what the task asks. Checks we can't be sure about go to a person on the ASM team, never to an automatic pass.
- Where the card sets a follower minimum, the ASM team checks your follower count as X shows it publicly when we review your entry.
Limits: one claim per quest per wallet and per X account, and each post can be used for only one claim. To stop abuse, you can try at most 5 claims a day.
ASM never posts for you. The buttons only open X with suggested text, and you choose whether to post. We never ask for your X password and never read your messages.
5. Points
Quest points are a fun score shown on your profile and the Quests page. They have no cash value, can't be sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and can only be used as ASM describes on the Quests page.
6. Prizes
- The quest card describes the prize, for example "2 Epic crates · ASM covers the mint fee", and how many are available, for example "first 100".
- How winners are chosen: prizes go to the first entries that pass the checks, in the order they were submitted, until the stated number is reached. There's no random draw for who wins. Entries after that are put on a waiting list in submission order, and move up if an earlier entry is rejected.
- Crate prizes: a crate prize is a sealed ASM crate with the finish named on the card (Epic is the Purple finish). The item inside is chosen at random when the crate is created, using the published odds for that finish. For the Purple finish, the chances are: Uncommon 19.6%, Rare 33%, Very Rare 25.5%, Epic 15%, Legendary 5.5%, Mythic 1.4%. The full table is in the Crate Rules and Odds.
- What ASM pays: ASM pays the crate's price and mint fee. You pay only the network fee to accept the crate in your wallet and keep the ledger reserve for it.
- Delivery: we offer the prize to the wallet you entered with. The card says when, for example "Delivered after Mainnet launch". You accept the offer in your wallet. If you don't accept it within 30 days of it being offered, we may cancel the offer and the prize lapses.
- Prizes can't be exchanged for cash or swapped for another prize, and can't be transferred to someone else before delivery. Once delivered, a prize is yours like any other ASM item.
- If a stated prize can't be delivered for reasons outside our control, we'll give a prize of similar value instead.
7. Dates and results
- Each quest shows when it opens and closes. Entries posted outside those times don't count.
- We'll announce that prizes have been allocated on the Quests page and on @0xASMedia. We'll name winners by their X handle only if they agree.
- Your claim status shows on the Quests page ("Pending review", "Claimed · reward pending", "Not accepted" or "Revoked").
8. Fair play
We may reject or revoke an entry, remove points or cancel an undelivered prize if the entry breaks these rules or the Community Guidelines, for example if it uses fake or bought accounts or followers, several wallets, automated posting, someone else's post, or a post that's later deleted or made private. If you think we got it wrong, DM the_oak_ on Discord and we'll look again.
We may end or change a quest early only if something outside our control stops it running fairly, such as a change to X. If we do, we'll say so on the Quests page, and entries that already passed keep their place.
9. Your information
To run quests we keep your X handle, the link to your proof post, the links you submit, our check results, your points and any prize owed. After a quest, we keep the records the law requires for promotions. If you ask us to erase your data, we delete your X link, entries and points, but keep a pseudonymised record of any prize so it can't be claimed twice. The Privacy Policy explains this in full. We don't use quest information for advertising and don't share it with anyone except as the Privacy Policy describes.
10. Copies of these rules
These rules are always available on https://asmedia.co.za, free of charge. If you'd like a copy, ask us on Discord (DM the_oak_) or on X (@0xASMedia).
